The Pawer of Now

A complete experience. Not a novelty class.

The retreat vision

Arrival. Story. Practice. Reflection.

The Omega proposal describes what a full Doga retreat can be: not a series of classes, but a complete arc of experience. You arrive. You hear the story. You practice. You reflect. And you leave with something you can carry home to the animal beside you.

The retreat described here is a vision and workshop concept. Confirmed offerings will be listed as bookable when dates and venues are approved.

The first weekend

Intentionally dog-free.

The proposed first weekend was designed without live dogs — by intention. Participants bring a favorite stuffed animal as a gentle teaching partner. This lets everyone practice posture, space, comfort, and invitation without asking a live dog to participate in a busy retreat environment. The learning travels home to the animals people love.

"The dog does not need to be in the room for the practice to begin."

What the retreat includes

A welcoming story circle

The history of Doga. Where it came from. Why it matters. The 25-year lineage from Coali and early Ruff Yoga to the practice you are entering now.

Breath, grounding, and Sukhasana

Gentle movement. Easy Pose with supported alignment. Learning to settle into the body before bringing attention to the animal.

The eight limbs through Doga

Asana is one part of yoga, not the whole practice. Each limb — from Yama to Samadhi — explored through the lens of our relationship with animals.

Noticing your own state

Practice recognizing where you are before you enter the relationship. The Five-Step Reset. The Paw of Attraction as a reflection tool, not a diagnosis.

Stuffed-animal practice

Respectful positioning, space, and invitation — demonstrated with a stuffed animal. The same principles that apply to a living dog, practiced without pressure.

Nature, reflection, and stillness

Time to let the learning settle. The retreat is not a curriculum to complete. It is an experience to absorb.

A personal Pawer of Now practice

A take-home companion. A practice that continues after you leave — in your home, with your animal, in the ordinary moments of your day.

The Doga mat-painting studio

If appropriate for the venue: mats drying flat, painted by hand. A creative, meditative practice that becomes a physical anchor for the work.

A retreat ritual

Painting Our Doga Mats

When we gather, we create together. One of the most beloved rituals of a DogaDog retreat is painting our own yoga mats — filling them with paw prints, hearts, Om symbols, and whatever the moment calls forward.

Your dog watches. Sometimes they help. The mat you carry home is a living piece of the retreat — a reminder that presence is always the practice.

"Every brushstroke is a prayer. Every paw print, a teaching."
